OUR POLICIES

Terms & Conditions

Clear expectations for cleaning, decluttering, home support and responsible removal of items.

01 About these terms

These Terms & Conditions apply to services provided by Space My Place, including cleaning, decluttering, home organisation, clearance, moving and resettlement support, and practical home support. By booking our services, the client agrees to the scope of work, price and relevant terms confirmed before work begins.

02 Bookings and quotations

Clients should provide accurate details of the property, access arrangements, tasks required, and any circumstances that may affect the work. Estimates are based on the information available and may be revised if the scope or condition of the property materially differs. We will discuss significant additional work and charges before proceeding.

03 Access, safety and preparation

Clients must provide safe and reasonable access to the property and disclose known hazards, fragile or valuable items, unsafe conditions, restricted areas and any specific cleaning requirements. We may pause, refuse or reschedule work where conditions present a health, safety or legal risk. Hazardous materials and specialist waste may require separate arrangements.

04 Disposal of Items

Space My Place may remove, recycle, resell, reclaim, restore, donate or responsibly dispose of items, in accordance with applicable environmental regulations and the agreed instructions. Clients must clearly identify and confirm which items are to be removed before collection and should separate any items they wish to keep. Once items have been removed and recycled, sold, donated, reclaimed, restored or disposed of, they may not be recoverable or returned. Space My Place cannot guarantee the return of items once they have been processed. This does not remove any legal rights or remedies a client may have if we act negligently, remove items without authorisation or otherwise fail to exercise reasonable care and skill.

05 Items requiring special attention

Please identify sentimental, important, confidential or high-value items, including documents, jewellery, cash, medication, devices and personal records, before work starts. We recommend that clients securely remove or clearly mark these items. We will not knowingly remove items outside the agreed scope.

06 Cleaning standards and service limitations

We aim to provide services with reasonable care and skill. Results depend on the material, age, condition and accessibility of surfaces and items. Some stains, odours, damage or deterioration may be permanent, and aggressive treatment may be inappropriate. We will not knowingly undertake work that is unsafe or unsuitable.

07 Prices, payment and changes

The agreed quotation or booking confirmation will specify the charge, any deposit and payment arrangements. Additional work or unexpected costs will be discussed before authorisation. If you wish to change or cancel a booking, please contact us as soon as possible; any applicable cancellation charges will be explained before booking and must comply with your statutory rights.

08 Cancellations and consumer rights

Where a consumer contract is made at a distance or away from our business premises, statutory cancellation rights may apply, including a 14-day cancellation period in relevant circumstances. If you expressly request services to start during that period, you may be required to pay for services already supplied if you subsequently cancel, in accordance with applicable law. Any applicable exceptions or consent requirements will be explained when arranging the service.

09 Damage, liability and complaints

Please notify us promptly if you have a concern about work carried out or about an item. We will review complaints fairly and seek an appropriate resolution. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts our liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or the client’s statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

10 Waste handling and environmental responsibility

Where items are classed as waste, they will be handled through appropriate lawful routes in line with applicable duty-of-care requirements. Some materials cannot be accepted as part of a standard visit, and any special collection, handling or disposal arrangements must be agreed in advance.

11 Privacy and personal information

We use client contact details and relevant booking information to respond to enquiries, arrange services, administer bookings and address service issues. Personal information is handled in accordance with applicable data-protection law. Please refer to our Privacy Policy when it is published.

12 Contact and updates

For questions about these terms, your booking or a complaint, contact Space My Place by email at Info@spacemyplace.uk or telephone 07494 151947. The version provided when you book will ordinarily govern that booking, unless a change is agreed or required by law.
